Custom curved ventilated roof renovation

The opening and closing Vergola louvre roof, at this beautiful Clontarf home, was custom-designed to integrate with the house’s curved features and retain the integrity of the original building design. Carefully crafted in Vergola’s Terrey Hills factory, the creation of this curved design required detailed engineering along with skilled workmanship.

WHAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE RENOVATION?

The versatile functionality of the opening and closing louvres in the Vergola gives the homeowner complete control over the light, shade and ventilation for the outdoor living area on the top floor of the home. The home is kept cooler in summer and warmer in winter by simply opening or closing the louvres to block or retain the sun. Improved airflow is also a benefit that keeps the outdoor area cooler in summer and of course, reduces the reliance on less environmentally friendly cooling and heating alternatives.

The views from the top floor outdoor area are enhanced by allowing the eye to catch the day or night sky between the fully opened louvres. The Vergola provides all the protection of a fixed roof, with all the benefits of alfresco living.

The colour of the posts and frames are Colorbond Steel’s Ironstone, while the louvres are Colorbond Shale Grey. The two-tone design is a perfect match for the rest of the house and creates a wonderful ambience that can be enjoyed all year round.

The top floor outdoor area was previously rarely used, and now with the Vergola, it is a favourite spot for the homeowners.
