ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The Builder Awards is open to Hardware & General business customers. The prize money will be provided via a Hardware & General account, so it is recommended that you have an existing account or apply for one with us as soon as quickly as you can. Applications are free and can be completed on-line.
2-Step Application Process:
- Complete application form as soon as you know which site address you will nominate for entry
- Upon completion of the project, upload photos & the required documentation
ENTRIES MUST:
- Be a Hardware & General business account holder (cash or credit)
- Purchase a minimum of 80% of materials used in the project from Hardware & General stores
- Commence after 1/12/2020 and be completed by 27/02/2022
- Be available for on site interview in social media if required
- Have clients/owners consent to nominate the project
- Upload 4 photos to specification upon completion
- Provide complete materials list with part 2 of application
- Substantiate value of the contract for category selection
- Read and comply with terms and conditions on our website
- Tell all of your friends & family to vote for your project!
Grand Builder Awards JUDGING CRITERIA
There will be two stages of judging for the competition
- Stage 1: Public Voting – share your entry and tell all of your clients, friends and family to vote for their favourites!
Maximise your business exposure by providing a very well written application and your company logo. Any links to your website or social platforms should be included. - Stage 2: Industry Judges – a panel of industry leaders and specialists will visit a shortlist of finalists

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes, if the “outdoor room” component of the build commenced after December 1st 2020. A condition of entry is that you supply a list of materials used and where you purchased them from.
That’s o.k. especially when they are products that H&G does not supply – a drop-in swimming pool is excluded from the 80% list. We ask that 80% of the products we do supply have been bought from H&G.
Yes! Especially as this is where we will credit the prize money to.

Entries are open now! You can nominate your site early and add the photos when you have finished the project.
All entries must be finalised by 27th February 2022
The project you nominate is the owners private home. They must give their permission to use photos of their private site before you can use them as an entry. The photos will be used for publicity of your entry and for future publicity.
We may also contact the owner (through you) to arrange an onsite interview or for finalist judging.
We are looking for Outdoor spaces where home owners live and entertain.
This could include;
A deck area, pergola, alfresco kitchen, covered entertaining space, outdoor cinema space, creative fencing and structural landscaping.
We would liek to see projects including some of these items.
Timber decks, timber structures, Velux windows, kitchen / BBQ / bar area, glass pool fencing, bespoke pools created with steel from H&G, outdoor tiles, cabana structures, outdoor showers, innovative use of designer materials, cladding & lighting.
